Mets @ Giants: DeGrom takes the mound as New York looks to bounce back
Mets @ Giants MLB odds spreads and predictions
New York and San Francisco have been two of the hottest teams in baseball.
The New York Mets came up short in a marathon game with the San Francisco Giants 3-2 in 16 innings.
Noah Syndergaard was on his game allowing just one earned on seven hits with eight strikeouts in seven innings.
The 2019 Home Run Derby Champ, and rookie of the year front-runner, Pete Alonso was stellar as always for New York. Alonso provided both runs for the Mets, including a go-ahead solo home run in the top of the 16th inning for his team-leading 32nd of the season.

The San Francisco Giants and Madison Bumgarner outlasted New York, and won the pitchers duel on Thursday night.
Bumgarner gave San Francisco everything they could have ask for throwing nine full innings, allowing just one earned on five hits with six strikeouts.
The Giants bats were cold all game, but waited for the right time to wake them up down 2-1 in the 16th. Brandon Crawford started the rally with the game-tying RBI double. Crawford would then score the game-winning run provided off the bat of Donovan Solano two batters later.
Solano came up with the bases loaded and delivered the walk-off RBI single.
Mets @ Giants Runline
The Mets are giving the Giants 1.5 runs in this matchup.
Both these teams have been amongst the hottest in baseball over the last few weeks.
Although the Mets will have their ace on the mound, it's surprising to see New York as the road favorite. New York is 21-32 on the road this season and 17-31 as the favorite.
Despite those numbers, the Mets are unpredictable and may very well play away from the pattern and come out as the winner.
Take New York to cover.

Where the game will be won or lost
New York sends their ace to the mound on Friday night in reigning NL Cy Young winner Jacob deGrom. For San Francisco, they send second-year pro Tyler Beede to the hill.
DeGrom hasn't exactly had a repeat Cy Young performance this season, but has been solid nonetheless with a 5-7 record, 144 strikeouts, and 3.21 ERA in 19 starts.
In his last outing, deGrom picked up the win allowing one earned on six hits in five innings with six strikeouts against the Miami Marlins.
Beede has been up and down this season with a 3-3 record and 5.44 ERA, but has managed to win two consecutive starts. In his last start, Beede allowed three earned on seven hits in six and two-thirds innings with seven strikeouts against the Brewers.
