Celtics @ Bucks: Milwaukee looks to advance to conference finals
Celtics @ Bucks NBA odds spreads and predictions
The Milwaukee Bucks took a commanding 3-1 series lead in Game 4. Now, they'll look to shut the door on the Boston Celtics in Game 5 in Milwaukee.
Has anyone been playing better basketball than Milwaukee's MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo?
The Greek Freak finished with a game-high 39 points to go along with 16 rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block for the Bucks in a 113-101 victory over the Celtics in Boston in Game 4.
George Hill was the second leading scorer for Milwaukee as he finished with 15 points, five assists and four rebounds off the bench.
Khris Middleton chipped in 13 points, seven assists and three rebounds, and Eric Bledsoe contributed 13 points, three assists, two rebounds and two blocks for the Bucks in the road win.
Milwaukee will look to close out the series on Wednesday night.
When is it? Wednesday May 8th
What time is tip off? 8:00 p.m. ET
Where is it being played? Fiserv Forum
Which channel is it on? TNT
If the Celtics want to get this series back to Boston, they need point guard Kyrie Irving to be better than he was in Game 4.
The Celtics' star point guard finished with a team-high 23 points, but he shot 7-of-22 from the field, including only 1-of-7 from beyond the three-point line.
Irving clearly hasn't been at his best. Whatever Milwaukee is doing defensively is clearly frustrating him and if that continues, this may be his last game in a Celtics uniform with his impending free agency set to open this summer.
Al Horford added 20 points, six rebounds and five assists, and Marcus Morris contributed 18 points, 14 rebounds and two assists for the Celtics in the loss.
Celtics @ Bucks Spread
The Milwaukee Bucks are giving the Celtics 9 points in this basketball game.
I believe the Celtics will keep this game close because they are a desperate team right now, however, I think the Bucks will ultimately come away with the win.
If you're thinking of betting with the points, roll with the Celtics plus the 9, but if you're considering a moneyline bet, Milwaukee is the way to go here.
Celtics @ Bucks Over/Under
The over/under in this one is set at 218.5 total points.
My final score prediction: Milwaukee Bucks 110, Boston Celtics 107.
Take the under in this matchup.
Where the game will be won or lost
The Milwaukee Bucks will have the opportunity to become the first to reach the NBA's final four on Wednesday night when they look to close out the Boston Celtics in Milwaukee in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semis.
The Bucks haven't won a playoff series from the Celtics since the 1983 East semifinals, but they are targeting a 4-1 win in this best-of-seven in Milwaukee where they came away with a 123-102 last Tuesday.
After Boston stole Game 1 on the road, Milwaukee stepped its game up by blowing out the Celtics in each of the next three games and the Bucks have done a terrific job bottling up and frustrating Kyrie Irving.
While Irving scored 29 and 23 points in Boston's two home losses, he shot a pedestrian 8-for-22 and 7-for-22 in those games, including a combined 3-for-15 on 3-pointers.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, on the other hand, has proven his worth as the league's most valuable player.
He shot 8-for-13 and 15-for-22 in the wins, helping the Bucks to a 123-116 victory in Game 3 and a 113-101 final in Game 4.
In order for this not to potentially be Irving's final game in a Celtics uniform, they must win and get the series back to Boston.
I don't see it happening. The Bucks are simply on a roll and I believe they will seal the deal on Wednesday.
The Bucks could get back Malcolm Brogdon, who has been out since March with a plantar fascia tear in his right foot. He has been nearing a return, but head coach Mike Budenholzer said the team is still evaluating him and will know more on Wednesday.
If a Game 6 is needed, it would be played Friday in Boston.
