Clippers @ Celtics Spread
The Boston Celtics are giving the Clippers 11 points in this matchup.
I think there's no doubt that the Celtics are going to come away with a win in this one, however, what concerns me most is how much they actually win by.
I like the Celtics to ultimately win this game, but I believe the 11 points being given to the Clippers is way too much to pass on. I think the Clippers are good enough to keep this a competitive game, even if they lose by 10 points.
Roll with the Clippers and the points in this one.
Clippers @ Celtics Over/Under
The over/under in this one is set at 225.5 total points.
My final score prediction: Boston Celtics 120, Los Angeles Clippers 115.
Take the over in this basketball game.
Where the game will be won or lost
In their first game after the trade deadline, the Clippers' new players are expected to take the court on Saturday night against the Celtics.
The Clippers are clinging onto a playoff spot with only 26 games left, but they decided to tweak their roster before the trade deadline on Thursday. Los Angeles traded away Tobias Harris to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, and they traded shooting guard Avery Bradley to the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday.
In return, the Clippers received players and draft picks. Los Angeles acquired Wilson Chandler, Garrett Temple, JaMychal Green and Landry Shamet in the Harris and Bradley trades. The Clippers also received Mike Muscala from the 76ers, and then traded him the next day to the Los Angeles Lakers for Ivica Zubac and Michael Beasley.
The Celtics, on the other hand, didn't make any moves before the trade deadline. Boston hosted the Lakers on Thursday night, and lost 129-128 on the last-second buzzer beater by Rajon Rondo.
Boston entered the weekend tied with the Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers for the third-through-fifth spots in the Eastern Conference standings. The Celtics won five in a row and 10 of 11 before their heartbreaking loss to the Lakers.
Look for Boston to rebound in a big way on Saturday night against the Clippers.
