Knicks @ Pistons: Detroit looks to sweep New York in back-to-back games

Knicks @ Pistons NBA odds, spreads and predictions

The New York Knicks sit alone at the bottom of the NBA.

New York dropped a 14th consecutive game and moved to (10-43) on the season following a loss to the Detroit Pistons 105-92.

Following that defeat, the Knicks set a franchise-record with a 15th straight home loss and have now lost 27 of the last 29 overall.

Newly-acquired Dennis Smith Jr. led the team with 25 points and six assists on 11-of-25 shooting in a team-high 40 minutes of action.

Mitchell Robinson came off the bench and picked up his second double-double of the season, scoring 13 points with 11 rebounds.

Rookie Kevin Knox was the only other Knicks player to score in double figures after totaling 11 points and seven rebounds.

The lowdown

The Pistons picked up a second win in a row after their victory over the Knicks on Tuesday.

Blake Griffin filled up the stat sheet, leading the team with 29 points and eight rebounds while adding six rebounds.

Andre Drummond had his sixth consecutive double-double posting 17 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks.

Reggie Jackson and Reggie Bullock both contributed 19 points; Bullock hit five three-pointers and grabbed seven rebounds, while Jackson dished out seven assists.

Bullock, however, will no longer be on the Pistons when they face off with New York for the second time.

Bullock was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers for guard Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk and a second-round draft pick.

Knicks @ Pistons Spread

Detroit is giving New York 8.5 points in this matchup.

Although the Knicks are losing at an alarming rate, every team is due eventually.

Without Bullock in the lineup, Detroit will be lacking some key offensive production which will hurt their offense that ranks eighth worst in the NBA averaging 106 ppg.

I don't expect New York to snap their streak and win outright, but I do think they'll be able to keep this game competitive especially with the spread set at 8.5 points.

Take Knicks with the points.

Knicks @ Pistons Moneyline

Think New York can finally find the win column? Betting $35 could win profit of $100.

Like Detroit to pick up a third win in a row? Spending $400 would win $100 profit.

Knicks @ Pistons Over/Under

The over/under for this matchup is set at 206 points.

Final score prediction: New York Knicks 102, Detroit Pistons 106

Take the over in this game.

Where the game will be won or lost

Offense should dictate this game with how both these teams have struggled to score points.

Although the Pistons lost Bullock via trade, they also gained center Thon Maker from the Milwaukee Bucks.

However, Maker isn't expected to suit up on Friday which means the shorthand Pistons have to lean on Griffin and Drummond to carry the offense burden.

For New York, Wesley Matthews and Damyean Dotson have to contribute and improve on their poor outings on Tuesday.

Matthews shot 2-of-11 from the field for nine points, while Dotson shot 1-of-7 from the field for four points.
