Colts vs Chiefs NFL odds, spreads and predictions
The Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs will square off in a Divisional Round matchup on Saturday.
The Indianapolis Colts are coming off a beatdown of the Houston Texans in the AFC Wildcard Round, but will now face a bigger test when they face the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
The winner advances to the AFC Championship Game and will take on the winner of the Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots.
Will the steaming hot Colts pull off the upset on the road? Or will the Chiefs, led by MVP frontrunner Patrick Mahomes, keep their Super Bowl dreams alive?
When is it? Saturday January 12th
What time is kick off? 4:35 p.m. ET
Where is it being played? Arrowhead Stadium
Which channel is it on? NBC
After spending the first week of the playoffs watching the action, the Chiefs will finally play their first game since Week 17.
In their most recent game, the Chiefs took down the Oakland Raiders 35-3 at home.
It was a big victory for Kansas City because it lost back-to-back games in Week 15 and Week 16, so the win was something the Chiefs really needed heading into the playoffs.
The Chiefs finished the regular season as the highest-scoring team in the NFL averaging 35.3 points per game this year, and they were also first in total offense averaging 425.6 total yards per contest.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is the engine that makes everything run for the Chiefs' attack.
Mahomes finished with 5,097 yards and 50 touchdowns this season, and is the frontrunner for league MVP.
Kansas City is 8-2 straight up in its last 10 home games.
Colts vs Chiefs Spread
The Kansas City Chiefs are giving the Colts 5.5 points in this matchup.
Roll with the Colts on the road in this AFC Divisional Round game. Indianapolis is on a roll right now, as it has won 10 of its last 11 games.
I'm not 100 percent sure the Colts come away with the win, however, I do believe they will cover this game.
Take the Colts and the points.
Colts vs Chiefs Over/Under
The over/under is set at 57 total points in this one.
My final score prediction: Indianapolis Colts 28, Kansas City Chiefs 24.
Roll with the under in this matchup. I expect a cold game. I think the weather will play a huge factor and it definitely won't help the offense out.
The defenses will come up big here.
Colts vs Chiefs Moneyline
If you're thinking about rolling with the Chiefs, you'd have to put out $240 to win a $100 bet.
A $100 bet on the Colts would get you winnings of $190.
If you want to be creative, take the Indianapolis moneyline bet here.
Again, not saying the Colts will 100 percent win, however, I think being risky and taking the Colts moneyline is the way to go.
Where the game will be won or lost
The Houston Texans were no match for the Indianapolis Colts last week in the AFC Wildcard Round.
Colts head coach Frank Reich rolled past the Texans in a 21-7 road win.
Indianapolis' defense came up big, as it limited the Texans' offense to only 322 total yards. Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson only had 235 passing yards on 49 attempts and finished with just one touchdown and an interception.
Stopping the Kansas City passing attack is going to be the key for the Colts.
Against the Texans, the Colts sacked Watson three times. Also, the Colts' offensive line, which allowed an NFL-low 18 sacks in the regular season, will serve an important role against Kansas City's defense that had the most quarterback takedowns this season.
The Colts are 3-0 straight up in their last three road games.
